DIVERS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

17/D – John Dory - Zeus faber

A curious eccentric-looking fish with an unusual swimming style. It changes color, grayish-brown with yellow stripes, and has a very flat body which offers no resistance to the tide. With strong spikes at the base of its fins, it has a large protractile mouth and an eye just as large. It permits divers to observe it, although it is very hard to detect. It lives at a depth ranging from 10 to 40 meters in winter and spring, when the water is colder.
