16/A – Sea red potato - Halocinthya papillosa

Surely the best-known ascidian to scuba divers; its long, cylindrical body, which is slightly bulgy in the middle, is the reason for its common name. From its bright red color, if exposed to intense light, it gets paler as the light decreases and even becomes white. Its two siphons have bristles around the opening; it reaches a maximum size of 15 centimeters.
