17/A – Eyed electric ray - Torpedo torpedo

This cartilaginous fish with a flat discoid-shaped body, of reddish brown color alternated with numerous dark spots verging on bluish-green, is not particularly afraid of divers. Besides its camouflage color, it has special electric organs that can produce high currents able to stun their prey, and also enough to cause a fair "shock" in case of contact. It lives in sandy beds.
